Sex Trafficking
Adult & Teen Challenge is answering the call to be equipped for adults and teens who have been sex trafficked. The staff of our adult home for women in Rhode Island and our teen home in Massachusetts has been trained to take victims of this terrible crime. Ninety-five percent of trafficked girls are forced to take drugs to control them or they themselves use drugs to ease their pain due to the trauma they experience. Adult & Teen Challenge is an ideal place for them to find healing for this quandary. No one should be enslaved to anything or anyone because God gives us power to be FREE!
What is Human Trafficking?
This fastest growing criminal industry in the world is defined by the United Nations as the recruitment, transportation, harboring, receiving and selling of victims for the purpose of prostitution, slavery, pornography, or sexual exploitation.
It takes place through threat, coercion, fraud, abduction, deception, and abuse of power. Human Trafficking targets children and teenagers with approximately 1.2 million new innocent victims annually.
Worldwide it is estimated to include between 20.9 million victims. After drug trafficking, human trafficking is the second most prolific industry in the criminal world, producing 32 billion dollars annually.
Presently, there are 49 countries that traffic into 91 cities in America with the average age being 13 years old. Together we can make a difference!
